Plot Summary:
In an ordinary day, a deranged man has a rampage in a diner and randomly shoots the costumers. The survivors of the tragic episode are deeply affected by the shooting and have the most different reactions: the youngster, Anne Hagen, becomes popular at school telling her version of the shooting; her friend Jimmy Jaspersen becomes mute and closes himself to the outer world; the waitress Carla Davenport neglects her baby and has several vulgar relationships with men; Dr. Bruce Laraby loses his self-confidence and tries an experimental treatment to the migraine of his wife; and the compulsive gambler Charlie Archenault believes that he is lucky in the game and gambles all his money but he has a jinx.

Plot Summary:
Newly divorced, Achilles Pumpkinseed lives alone in the house left to him by his deceased mother. Depressed and adrift, he spends his days smoking pot and watching television, usually alone but sometimes with his equally rootless friend Patroclus. Although he owns a small business, Achilles cannot face working any more than he can muster the energy to deal with the world he used to be a part of. Then one day, an unexpected visitor named Homer shows up at Achilles' doorstep, bearing an unusual gift: an old dilapidated camping trailer painted like a child's image of a watermelon. Insisting that delivering this improbable gift to Achilles is his "mission", sworn to at knife-point for the young man's hated stepfather Creon, Homer forces Achilles to accept the bizarre object. As fate would have it, the Watermelon acts as a magnet, luring all manner of oddball humanity to Achilles' home - a flaky artist, a pushy photo-journalist, a pedantic television reporter, and even the ghost of his beloved mother. At first, Achilles rejects the intrusions, until one day he discovers a young runaway sleeping in the trailer. Rather than chase her off as he did the others, Achilles invites the vulnerable Persephone into his home... and his life. Plot Summary:
Tom Fisher is a 10 year old scientist in the making. He is an only child and has few friends, but that's just fine with him as it gives him more time to devote to his one passion in life: Radios. Tom can't get enough of them and is amazed by the idea that we are constantly surrounded by radio waves our entire lives, wherever we are. In fact Tom is so obsessed with tuning in, that he often skips school just to listen to another obscure broadcast from some distant corner of the earth. Tom lives with his father Peter, who always seems to be working, whether he be at the office or at home. We quickly see a pattern forming of their everyday lives and it's clear that father and son don't spend a great deal of time together. So whether Tom is at home or out on his bike, he seems to be alone and it is easy to understand why he likes having the radio on for company. When Tom should be at school he can always be found, a few miles from his house, sat beneath a large collection of radio masts and antenna. On one such day, he receives a message through his radio that is so intriguing and important that it may change his life forever.

Plot Summary:
After escaping from a desert planet, Escaped convict Richard B. Plot Summary:
Set in London, England, good Samaritan Dan Wolf (Jude Law), a struggling writer, takes Alice Ayres (Natalie Portman), a shady young woman and part-time stripper, to the hospital when she's hit by a car, and they fall in love. One year later, Dan meets photographer Anna Cameron (Julie Roberts) and tries to pick her up, but she rebuffs him. Plot Summary:
Mississippi, just before Pearl Harbor. Two brothers, Pete, about 19 and Willie, about 10 years younger. They are clearly close friends. The news arrives, and Pete goes to enlist. Willie wants to come along, but is told he cannot. After his brother leaves, the boy walks 30 miles to the nearest town, where the sheriff eventually puts him on a bus to Memphis where his brother is. At the recruiting office, Willie proves even more determined to see his brother; eventually, sympathetic Col. McKellogg takes care of him.

Plot Summary:
An aspiring model falls in love with a struggling musician when they suddenly cross paths on a NY subway train. Having achieved success as a NY model, Brier decides to move to L.A. to launch an acting career. With the support of her acerbic agent and sometimes surrogate mom, Carrie, Brier lands a spot in a highly sought after acting class where she befriends another would-be actress, Clea. While out on the town discovering the music scene, Brier again crosses paths with Luke, a singer/songwriter who has been toiling for years without a record deal. Brier and Clea decide to help Luke and unbeknownst to him, they set out to create some L.A. style hype to get him noticed. As Luke's profile rises, so do the demands of his budding new career. When Luke and Brier can't hide that spark that was always there, they both discover that the price of fame may be higher than anyone expected.
